International (Non-U.S. Resident) Applicants

DigiPen welcomes students from all countries and cultures. Because of language and educational differences, DigiPen does require some additional information from international applicants to ensure a successful experience for students. International applicants are asked to complete the application process as early as possible, to guarantee timely evaluation of their application.

International Students with Transcripts in Languages Other than English 

Applicants with credentials issued in a language other than English, must submit them in both the original language and English. Please do not have your grades converted or interpreted in any way. For information on qualified translators, please contact the American Translators Association (atanet.org) or another recognized translation service (i.e., a certified translator, certified court interpreter, an authorized government official, and/ or official from the school where you obtained the degree). Proof of the translator’s credentials must accompany each translation. Please note that self-translated copies are not acceptable. All transcripts and diplomas must be issued by a bona fide, legitimate degree-granting university. If the issuing school provides official documents in English, an additional English translation is not required.

Recognition of Online Degrees

Some countries do not formally recognize online degrees, which may affect graduates’ eligibility for other educational programs, certifications, or employment opportunities in those countries. We strongly advise prospective students to consult appropriate professionals and authorities in their home country before enrolling in our online programs. It is the student’s responsibility to understand any local or otherwise relevant circumstances, requirements, or limitations that may apply to recognition of their degree. DigiPen does not represent or guarantee that its online degree programs are recognized or meet academic, professional, or regulatory requirements outside of the United States.

F-1 Visa Limitations

International students should be aware that enrollment in our online programs will not qualify for an F-1 student visa in the United States. Fully online programs are not eligible for issuance of a Form I-20 and therefore students cannot obtain or maintain F-1 visa status through enrollment in a fully online degree program.
